I have been a fund raiser and grant writer for more than 20 years, working for various types of health and human service agencies, association foundations and conservation/recreation initiatives. But the project I thoroughly enjoyed the most was when I wrote a grant application for the Chicago Public Schools Sports Administration to the NFL LISC Grassroots program that was successfully funded to resurface Lane Stadium with FieldTurf™.
I have a passion for sports and have seen first-hand through my work with various community-based organizations how they can change an individual’s life, provide opportunities, rally communities and build better neighborhoods. I thoroughly enjoy navigating the youth sports development landscape to grow as a professional and seek opportunities where I can work and make a difference.
Through this blog, my website, www.sportsgrantinfo.com and Twitter @sportsgrantinfo, I will share with you the current news, information and resources you can use to build your local sports program, find grant opportunities or simply learn from others. Whether you work for a not-for-profit, community-based organization or a foundation, I hope you will find these resources interesting, useful and thought provoking.
